How I Lost 60 Lbs & Achieved My Goal Weight *

PCOS has given me a lot of grief over the years. As well as having trouble with my weight, I had bad acne on my back, chest and face, my hair was thinning and I had a lot male hair growth. I hardly ever got my period and my sugar cravings affected my moods so badly I felt like a monster every night.

Of course I tried dieting, but it never took me long to fall back into old habits and gain back any weight that I’d lost.

When I came across Kym’s 30 Day PCOS Diet Challenge my weight was at it’s all time highest. I was moody to the point that it was hurting my family, and I just craved sugar and carbs so badly. Something had to give. I wanted to be a good role model for my two kids and to teach them how to live a healthy life without missing out on the great tastes of the world, but I wasn’t there myself!

During Kym’s 30 Day Challenge and 10 Week Program I went gluten and sugar free and started cooking everything more or less from scratch. One of the things I found most helpful was Kym’s explanation about how different foods affect my PCOS as this has helped me to make the right food choices. Foods I had been told were healthy, turned out to be not so good for women with PCOS, and gluten in particular was definitely my worst enemy. I had tried cutting gluten out before, but I never really understood how bad it was for me until I did her program.

When I first found Kym 9 months ago, I was 187 pounds. I lost 12 pounds during the 30 Day Challenge and went straight into the 10 Week Program to continue my progress. I’ve now lost 60 pounds and am less than 2 pounds away from my goal weight.

My acne has cleared up, I have more energy, and my mood has improved a lot – my monster side is gone now. I also don’t really think about sweets anymore because I no longer get cravings.

My plans now are to do some fitness and tone up my body. I have some loose skin on my arms and stomach that I hope to fix with the right exercise.
