PCOS was affecting every aspect of my life. I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t losing weight even though I was trying so hard. My stress levels were extremely high as my kids were both going through some major medical issues. My face was broken out in acne like I was a teenager and I started growing a pretty coarse beard on my upper neck and chin.
The reason I decided to get my PCOS under control was that I wanted to be healthier for my kids. They both had endured so much and I wanted to be the healthiest mom I could be for them. That was when I found Kym.
I started by doing her free 30 Day Challenge and then went on to do her program. Kym’s 30 Day Challenge and 10 Week Program were the first programs I had actually tried that were geared toward PCOS. I started eating better and being more mindful of carbs and sweets. Shortly after implementing my new way of eating I started feeling fantastic! I learned that I do in fact have a dairy intolerance and now my chronic nasal congestion has completely cleared up!!
I am so happy to say that by implementing Kym’s principles I am down a total of 60 lbs, and my menstrual cycle is now pretty regular (before I would go several months without having a period). My acne has disappeared and my energy is higher than ever before.
One of the biggest changes has been my attitude towards my weight. In the past, I was always focused on losing a specific amount of weight and thinking that would make me happier. I never really focused on my health. Now, I am more focused on healing my body with food and the added benefit of that is weight loss. I am no longer obsessed with the scale. It’s just a number and doesn’t define who I am as a person.
The emotional wellness module in Kym’s 10 Week Program really hit home for me. I started taking time for myself, making it a point to listen to the lessons and implement the information into my everyday life.
Before starting the program I decided that I would run a half marathon in honor of my sweet daughter who is an 11 year childhood cancer survivor. I trained for over a year and could never get past a 20 minute mile. A few weeks after starting the program I was completing 14 and 15 minute miles! I couldn’t believe how much energy I had!
I learned so much as Kym goes into such detail. I learned more from the 30 Day Challenge and her 10 Week Program than I did from my own doctor. Finding Kym has changed my life and how I think about my PCOS. I was so down and in a dark place when I was letting PCOS affect my life but now I finally feel good as PCOS is no longer controlling me.
